Ghana’s sports authority celebrates Zinabu Issah in Commonwealth congratulations

The NSA’s message honours Issah’s Glasgow shot put silver and recognises the work of Ghana’s Paralympic community.

Ghana’s National Sports Authority congratulated Zinabu Issah in a message dated 29 July 2026, celebrating what it described as the country’s first medal at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games: silver in the women’s F57 shot put.

Recognition for an athlete and her support team

The statement, issued in the name of Director General Yaw Ampofo Ankrah, praised Issah’s commitment and resilience and presented her performance as a source of national pride. It also acknowledged National Paralympic Committee of Ghana President Samson Deen and his team for their contribution to athlete development.

The authority extended encouragement to Hayford Addai for his men’s T47 100m campaign and to other Ghanaian competitors. These expressions of support are preserved as part of the contemporary congratulatory message.

A record of recognition

Issah had represented Ghana at the Paris 2024 Paralympics in discus and shot put, as recorded in her IPC athlete profile. This archive entry links the supplied NSA message with that earlier Paralympic record. The Glasgow medal description is attributed to the message; the Commonwealth Games and Paralympic Games are distinct competitions.
