Guinea-Bissau joins Portuguese-speaking athletics training network

Coaches and officials from Guinea-Bissau took part in a Para athletics training programme in Praia, Cape Verde, supported by an Agitos Foundation grant. The May 2016 IPC report recorded 28 participants from five Portuguese-speaking African countries. Brazilian coaches Julio Trigo and Fabio Breda shared technical and practical knowledge through a partnership involving Angola, Cape Verde and Brazil. The programme strengthened coaching, officiating and event-planning skills while encouraging cooperation between countries preparing athletes for national and international competition.
