Coach Renato De Jesus Dinis Muianga described plans to expand Para powerlifting in Mozambique in an IPC feature published in March 2023. He was coaching three athletes in Maputo, including Ilidio Arnaldo Chongo, within a national group of 16 lifters. The work aimed to create opportunities beyond the country’s established athletics participation. Muianga hoped to take athletes to the African Para Games and described planned national championships. These were ambitions at publication, supported by coaching, training and cooperation with the national committee.
