Sikhosana and Els into semis at African Para Games

Alwande Sikhosana and Leon Els reached the men’s singles semi-finals with straight-set victories over Nigerian opponents. Sikhosana defeated Terlumun Ukari, while Els overcame Alex Adewale. The two South Africans then paired up for another doubles win, an early indication of the singles and doubles success they would achieve later in the tournament.

Hosts Ghana clinch amputee football crown at African Para Games

Ghana won the amputee football title after coming from behind to defeat Morocco 2–1. The result reversed the hosts’ earlier group-stage loss to the same opponents and gave home supporters a gold-medal celebration. 2023 African Championships @ African Para Games

IWBF’s official event page records the final wheelchair basketball standings. Morocco finished first in the men’s competition, ahead of Algeria and Senegal; Algeria led the women’s standings, followed by South Africa and DR Congo. The same record explains that the championships selected Africa’s representatives for the 2024 repechage tournaments, rather than awarding direct Paralympic places.
