Ghana’s Black Challenge have received a timely lift on the road to Mexico, with Stonebwoy donating GHS100,000 and urging the nation to rally behind its amputee football champions.
Encouragement backed by action
The Ghanaian dancehall star visited the team at Mensah Sarbah Park on the University of Ghana campus on 23 October 2026. He spent time with the players during training, offered encouragement and turned his support into a financial contribution towards their World Cup preparations.
“I’m supporting them with GHS100,000,” Stonebwoy said, describing the donation as a contribution he hoped would help the team.
His message reached beyond the donation. He called for more funding for the players, recognising them as fathers, uncles and brothers carrying the responsibility of representing Ghana on the world stage.
Recognition for Samson Deen’s commitment
Stonebwoy also paid tribute to Samson Deen, President of the National Paralympic Committee of Ghana, thanking him for his leadership and commitment to the team. His appreciation highlighted the sustained work behind the players’ preparations and the importance of keeping athlete support at the centre of the national effort.
African champions. A world-stage ambition.
The Black Challenge bring a record of success to their World Cup campaign: African championship titles in 2021 and 2024, and gold at the inaugural African Para Games in Accra in 2023. Their next challenge is to turn that continental pedigree into a strong performance on the global stage.
The 2026 WAFF Amputee Football World Cup is scheduled for 13–22 November in San Juan de los Lagos, Mexico. Ghana will face Angola, Colombia and Iraq in Group D as 24 national teams compete for the world title.
Ghana, back our champions. Target the podium.
Stonebwoy has stepped forward. Now businesses, public institutions, supporters and the Ghanaian diaspora can help build that momentum. Share the team’s story, amplify the players’ achievements and contact NPC Ghana through its official profile to discuss practical support for their preparations.
They have given Ghana reasons to cheer. Let us give them the backing to chase the next one.
