The IPC profiled Angolan sprinter Esperança Gicasso as both a Paralympian and a teacher at the school where she had studied. A participant at London 2012 and Rio 2016, she recalled winning silver and bronze at the 2017 World Championships. Sponsorship helped her complete a pedagogy degree and continue international competition. Teaching children with vision impairments, she described how sport had increased her confidence and enabled her to inspire pupils through her own experience.
