Angola and Zambia join the elite Para powerlifting world stage

Angola and Zambia made their elite Para Powerlifting World Championships debuts at Dubai 2023. The IPC’s review placed them among six newcomers, alongside Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Nepal and Yemen. Their appearances expanded national representation at a championship featuring records, new world champions and the introduction of men’s and women’s team events. For both African delegations, the documented milestone was participation at elite world-championship level. The report did not attribute a medal to either country or provide an individual Zambian result, so these debuts should be understood as competition milestones rather than podium finishes.
