Seventeen teams from across Burundi took part in a national competition organised by Gitega Youth Centre and the country’s National Paralympic Committee on 20 April 2013. The IPC reported sitting volleyball and goalball in front of a large crowd and NPC representatives. The event followed training supported by the Agitos Foundation in Rwanda and Senegal during 2012. It provided a documented example of regional learning being carried into a national opportunity for teams to compete.
