Jappo Award recognises Harouna Ousmane’s work in Niger

Harouna Ousmane, then Secretary General of Niger’s National Paralympic Committee, received a 2009 Jappo Award for promoting sport for people with disabilities. The trophy was presented at the Africa International Sport Convention in Alexandria, Egypt, in February. Disability sport promotion was one of two newly introduced award categories. The IPC report placed the recognition within a gathering of African and international sports professionals, documenting public acknowledgement of Ousmane’s contribution to expanding sporting opportunities in Niger.
