Cameroon and DR Congo were among 13 African countries represented at a World Para Powerlifting workshop in Lagos from 10 to 12 August 2017. Its 52 participants included athletes, coaches, classifiers and technical officials. Three courses covered classification, refereeing and athlete-coach training, combining technical instruction with practical demonstrations. The Agitos Foundation supported the workshop through the NPC Development Programme and the IPC’s Toyota partnership. Ahead of that year’s World Championships, the training addressed athlete assessment, technical rules and coaching to help national programmes prepare competitors and organise events.
