Ritah Asiimwe discovered Para badminton while attending the Uganda international tournament in 2018. She developed her game with her left hand and adapted her movement through sustained practice. Three years later, she represented Uganda in women's singles SU5 when badminton made its Paralympic debut at Tokyo 2020. The IPC profile describes how qualification gave her a new competitive goal and greater confidence. Her three group matches marked an international milestone and a foundation for further development, rather than a medal-winning campaign.
