A new Zimbabwean rowing crew earns a route to Rio

Coach Rachel Davis brought together athletes from different sporting backgrounds to form Zimbabwe's first Para rowing crew. After a short preparation period, the mixed coxed four travelled to Gavirate, Italy, for training and the final Rio 2016 qualification regatta. The crew did not secure a place through that regatta but later received a bipartite invitation to the Games. The IPC feature follows the team's early technical learning and cooperation, showing how a new sporting opportunity developed through recruitment and international support.
