South Sudan's National Paralympic Committee joined the IPC following ratification at the General Assembly in Seoul on 26 September 2025. The admission made it the 49th African NPC within the international body. Secretary general Kim Bany Joak connected the milestone with developing inclusive sporting opportunities and the infrastructure athletes need. South Sudan was admitted alongside Bolivia's NPC and the International Federation of Sport Climbing. The announcement marks formal membership, rather than a claim of participation at a particular Paralympic Games.
